My recent projects examine audience engagement with media using behavioral data and quantitative analysis, including Medill's Local News Initiative. More broadly, my research explores behavioral and cognitive facets of engagement in three broad themes: (1) What enables engagement? (2) How and why do people engage with media? and (3) The ramifications of media engagement.
